Very Good Moro Kris with Laminated Blade - 6656

This is a very good and old Moro Kris, probably early 19 century. The wavy blade is 21 inches long, beautifully constructed from a laminated core, welded between high carbon steel edges and well treated and heat hardened. Deadly sharp. The grip is bound with braided fiber between two engraved silver rings. The pommel is hard wood and of very unusual shape, reminding in a way the Sumatra Keris handles. Two copper clamps secures the blade to the handle. Dark wood scabbard with simple carving at the scabbard top. Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. Minor cracks on the pommel and missing silver (?) plates. Light scratches and minor battle scars on the blade edges. Excellent sword and one of quality.
