The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is a good old Moro Barong, with a 16 ½ inches blade. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, bound to the blade tang with silver collar. The scabbard is wood entirely bound with Rattan strips, and a braided carrying belt. The upper part of the scabbard is elaborately carved and set with pieces of Mother of Pearl and. Total length (In scabbard) 26 inches. Good blade with few forging flaws. The rattan wrapping is later to the scabbard and broken and re-glued in very few points. The scabbard tip is restored and the grip has minor hairline age cracks but holds very solid. A very impressive piece.
