This is a very impressive African machete incorporating a good Solingen blade, stamped with a styled sun, moon and seven stars. A similar signatures appears on Solingen blades made for export at the second half of the 19th Century. 21 ½ inches long, 2 inches wide, up-curving blade, horn grips riveted to the blade tang. Good plus condition with minor blackened areas and pitted spots. Few nicks on the edge. Unusual piece for the collector of African weapons / implements offered here at a very attractive price.
