We offer here for sale a a long Barong sword with heavy leaf shaped blade, known to have superior cutting abilities. It is a good Moro Barong, from the early 20 C. with a 19 inches blade, (longer than the usual 14 inches blades).. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, Bound with white metal bands. The scabbard is dark wood beautifully rained and bound with two Rattan bands. The top of the scabbard is nicely carved and set woth two panels of Mother of Pearl. Total length 27 inches (in scabbard). Very good condition. Minor dents on the edge and small area of shallow pitting near the tip. A repaired cracks on the scabbard back. A small wood chip from the pommel. Altogether a very impressive piece of weaponry at a very low price.
