It is not often that such an item is up for sale. This Qajar Dagger (Persian, 1870-1890) is of top quality and in excellent condition. The waving blade is 12 inches long, forged from Persian wootz (True Damascus Steel) and with central rib, reinforced edges and thickened armor piercing tip. The hilt and scabbard are chiseled in the classical period style, depicting human figures antelopes and birds on a floral background. Both scabbard and hilt are gold plated (later, possibly early 20 C.). Total length 19 inches, Very good plus condition.
