Up for sale is this peculiar dagger, probably of Fang provenance. The Fang tribes reside on the border of Gabon and Cameroon. Their knives and daggers are rare and much sought after by collectors. This one has a leaf shape, wide blade, 9 inches long and 4 inches wide. Wood handle and wood scabbard covered with lizard skin and mounted with two brass carrying rings. Total length (in scabbard) 13 inches. Good condition. A small part of the wood cross guard is chipped off. The lizard skin shows some age shrink and few missing patches.
