Fighting Ottoman Yatagan Sword Dated 1806 - 6534

A nice example of a classical “YATAGAN”, simple but well made. A sword for the warrior not for the prince. It is of Turkish origin, has a 26 inches long heavy blade stamped and dated 221 (1221) in the Islamic calendar (corresponding to 1806 in the Gregorian calendar) The grips with the side ears are carved from black horn. Wood scabbard covered with black leather and mounted with long engraved brass fittings. Good condition. Few pitted spots and scratches on the blade. The grips and scabbard are later to the blade. The leather cover is recent. A simple example but for the real business, very reasonable price
