Very Good and Georgian Drinking Horn - 14651

Not exactly a weapon but a very good example of Georgian decorative arts. This drinking horn from black water buffalo horn. Late 19C. quite large in size 19 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide opening. It is mounted with fine silver top and silver finial in the shape of a bird head with a very long beak, set with turquoise stones for the eyes. All silver parts are very finely nielloed. Very good condition. minor damage to the silver beak. |
