Old, mid 19 C. Sewar dagger / knife from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its heavy down curving blade, by the grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Here the heavy blade is 9 inches long, forged from laminated steel. The grip is solid Ivory with silver collar. The scabbard is wood bound with silver bands chased silver mouth cover and silver bound down protrusion. Total length in scabbard 13 inches. Very good condition. Uunusually fine knife.
