Chopper / Machete of the Igorot Philippines - 6588


The Igorot people from the mountainous region of Luzon in the Philippines uses this machete as a general purpose tool as well as a weapon. It is also known as Pinahig . The heavy single edge blade, is 16 inches long, 2 inches wide near the tip. The grip is wood, covered with braided rattan fibers. It is housed in an open wood scabbard and comes in a beautifu; braided rattan belt. Total length (in scabbard) 22 inches. A very unusual item in a very good condition.
