A very unuual Mandau style sword from Borneo. We have never seen a simillar sword before. Massive blade 21 inches long wavey spine toward the tip with snake style brass insert. Primitive bone/ antler Mandau style handle with tufts of black hair bundles and rattan bounded grip. wood scabbard.Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. Late 19c.
