This small beautiful knife is of Turkish origin and known as Bichaq. It has a single edge blade 7 ½ inches long engraved and dated 1259 in the Islamic calendar, which corresponds to 1843 in the Gregorian calendar. The hilt is black enameled (Niello) silver with “ears” in the Yatagan handles style. The scabbard is wood, covered with silver also engraved and niellod. Total length (in scabbard) 13 ½ inches. Very good condition. All parts are original. Offered here at a very attractive price.
