Jambiya Dagger, Rhino Horn Grip, Mecca 1942 - 6541

This very good Arab Jambiya Dagger is known as Mecca style, with a silver scabbard and uprising scabbard tip. The blade is of good quality, 7 inches long, double edge with a central rib. The grip is Solid Rhino horn with clear fibrous structure, set with silver nails and silver rosettes. The scabbard is a piece of arts on its own in heavy pierced silver. It is marked in a punch dot design with Arabic inscriptions and dated 1361 in the Islamic calendar (corresponding to 1942 in the Gregorian calendar). This dagger comes with its leather belt, 36 inches long (fully stretched), buckled on both sides of the scabbard with two buckles. Very good condition. Few parts of the belt are lightly damaged. An outstanding piece for the serious collector of Arabic weapons / decorative arts. |
