A real, authentic Jambiya dagger from Yemen, with its original belt. The massive blade is 9 inches long, almost 3 inches wide, curved and double edge. The grip is black horn set with brass imitation coins and steel nails decorative design. The scabbard is wood, covered with colored velvet fabric and mounted with very big pierced silver chape. Total length (in scabbard) 15 inches. This dagger comes with its original brocade belt, 36 inches long, 3 ¾ inches wide, braided with golden threads and mounted with metal buttons, talisman pocket and steel buckle. Good condition. There are several pitted spots on the blade (not deep) The grip’s horn is chipped in very few places. The part of the belt near the buckle is worn and slightly damaged. All together a very good piece from the late 19 C. The real thing! NOT a tourist trap like so many being offered on the market.
