A very nice RENTONG knife / dagger from, sometime known as “BADE-BADE”. The version offered here is mostly used by the Acehnese people from North West Sumatra (see Stone Glossary, fig. 106 number 4 page 85). The blade is 6 ½ inches long down curving and single edged. The hilt is black horn sharply up-curving.. The scabbard is wood engraved with very delicate design. Very good condition. One spot of pitting on the edge, and a crack in the scabbard but hardly noticable. A very nice piece from the second half of the 19th C attractive and decorative item. It is offered here at a very low price.
