A loop dagger / Short sword of the TIV people residing on the Niger river in Nigeria. Very typical but unusual whole still construction with the ring hilt forged in one piece with the blade. 18 inches heavy curved and double edge blade with a central “step” ridge so typical on African blades. A leather strip is bound at the top of the blade to protect the hand. 22 inches total length. Very good plus condition. Quite unusual and very elegant piece.
