We offer for sale right from our private collection, this very good example of an 18th C. Persian Jambiya. The 8 ½ inches curved blade is forged from excellent Persian wootz (Damascus) steel with reinforced edges. The hilt is a solid piece of walrus cut entirely from the marble like inner sector of the ivory tusk and carved in the classical ‘I’ shape. Wood scabbard with the original black leather cover but a recently made silver tip. Very good condition. Very nice age patina on the ivory. The darken lines on the hilt are very thin and natural cracks that shoes natural borders of the ivory sectors. It is a result of the old age of the ivory.
