A dagger of superior quality and decoration, of Turkish origin, most probably from East Turkey, with strong Kurdish / Iraqi influence. Late 19 Century. Superb and good 10 inches curved blade with a central rib forged from very fine wootz (Damascus) steel in the rare ladder pattern. Dark wood hilt mounted with silver collar, pommel and grip strips. The scabbard is whole silver on wood, rich in filigree decoration of the utmost quality. Total length in scabbard 19 inches. Altogether good plus condition. You rarly see such a rich and splendid piece on the market.
