The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is a good old Moro Barong, with a pattern welded blade, 16 ½ inches long. The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, with a silver collar and bound with reinforcing bands of fibers. The scabbard is wood beautifuly carved at the mouth and tip, and bound with three rattan bands. Good condition. Good blade with few forging flaws and minor point of damage at the spine. Part of the scabbard top is missing and the scabbard is cracked in two places and was re-glues in the past. It holds very well. A very impressive piece at a very reasonable price.
