This Billao dagger is late 19 Century and comes from the coastal people of Somalia. It has a classical non-symmetrical leaf shape blade, 7 inches long, more than 2 ½ inches wide. The handle is made of two sections of horn separated by layers of brass and steel. The pommel is of a typical three pronged shape made of steel as well. Beautifuly tooled hide scabbard. Very good condition. Minor chips on the grip horn and minor damages to scabbard.
