Very Good Wootz Pesh-Kabz Dagger, India - 13981


This dagger is a Pesh-Kabz , a member of the family of the Karud and a Khybar Knife, but with a re-curving blade. The whole family of such daggers is common to India, Persia and several Central Asian countries. The blade is 10 inches long, heavy, with a pronounced T spine, reinforced edge and thickened armor piercing tip. It is forged from wootz (Damascus) steel The grips are of elephant ivory, the grip strap and bolsters are steel. Total length 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The wootz pattern is not perfect and disappears in several areas. No scabbard.
