Small Ram Dao Sacrificial Knife for Birds, Nepal - 6414


This small Ram-Dao is a sacrificial Knife from Nepal. It is meant to behead sacrificed doves and other small birds in one sword blow, and this is exactly how the blade is designed: Heavy, 9 inches long, down curving blade with wood handle 5 inches long, all in the shape of its bigger brother Ram Daos used to sacrifice bigger animals. The blade is decorated with geometrical engraving and inlaid with brass decoration just below the spine. grip is turned wood is fitted with brass mount and a steel pommel. The blade has small areas of light superficial pitting but otherwise in very good condition.
