Very Good Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt - 13787

A very good Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger, early - mid 20 C., from Oman. It has a 7 1/2 inches curved and dual edge blade, very well forged with a pronounced central rib. The grip is carved from a massive rhino horn decorated with silver panel on its front side and mounted with chased silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length 12 inches. This Khanjar comes with its original embroidered belt set with old silver coins, one British (King George VI) and one Arab. Very good condition. Minor losses to the leather cover o the back of the scabbard. |
