Rare Sword from Toraja, Sulawesi (Celebes), Indonesia - 6397

We offer for sale this very rare sword coming from Toraja (The central mountainous region of Sulawesi). It is locally called: Dua Lalan meaning dual purpose, to describe its use, both for war time and for ceremonial slaughtering of Buffalo. It has an 18 inches heavy blade, pamor forged, a black horn handle and wood scabbard bound with rattan. Total length 25 ½ inches.
