Very Good Syrian (Magdali) Khanjar Dagger - 13702

Classical Syrian Jambiya dagger, circa 1940, made in the Druze village of Magdal Shams (Tower of the sun) in the Golan Heights, the area of dispute between Israel and Syria. Similar daggers are produced today in the same place and style but not to the same quality. Curved short fullered blade, 5 inches long decorated with colored dots inserts. The handle made from layers and mosaics pieces of horn, bone, mother of pearl and brass in intricate geometrical design. Chased brass scabbard. Total length 10 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Small dent on the tip of the scabbard. A very good example of this class of daggers.
