Very Good Early Omani Khanjar / Jambiya with Rhino Horn Hilt - 13676

This very good dagger is Omani also known as Khanjar. It originate from Oman. Well forged 8 inches blade with a pronounced central rib. The hilt is Rhino horn in a classical “I” shaped decorated with silver nails. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather braided with gold colored and silver strips in an intricate decorative pattern. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. All scabbard and hilt fittings are silver chased in a typical design. Very good condition. Losses to the silver strips on the scabbard. The fabric back cover is later. A good late 19C. original dagger. |
