The Igorot people from the mountainous region of Luzon in the Philippines uses this dagger also known as Hinalung. This very good exemplar is mid 20C. The spear shaped blade is 7 ½ inches long is well forged in one piece with the hollow handle. The grip is covered with braided rattan strips. It is housed in an open wood scabbard bound with Braided rattan strips. Total length (in scabbard0 13 inches. Very good condition. Grinding signs on the blade.
