Very Good Axe of the Mangbetu - 13659

The knife of the Mangbetu people residing in Central Africa was originally used as a weapon of war and also as an agricultural implement, but later on developed into luxury item and a symbol of status. This one is a very good early 20C. exemplar, with a sickle shaped. 10 ½ inches (point to point) blade, very well forged. Massive wood grip. Total length 15 ½ inches. Very good condition.
