Fine Omani Jambiya / Khanjar Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt - 13625


A fine Arab Jambiya / Khanjar dagger, early 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge blade of good steel with a pronounced central rib. Hilt carved from rhino horn with gold mounts and chased silver collar partially gilded. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with gold and silver strips and wires, and mounted with chase silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts also partially gilded. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Original belt also elaborately embroidered with silver strips. Very good plus condition. Minor losses to the belt back cover. Impressive example of the famous Arab Jambiya.
