This Jambiya (or Khanjar) dagger is Persian, Qajar period, mid – Late 19C. The high quality blade is 12 inches long with pronounced central rib. The upper part of the blade is engraved with a typical Qajar scene. The whole steel handle and scabbard are finely chiseled with animals images in gold inlaid frames. Total length 19 ½ inches. Very good condition. Very good dark and homogenous age patina on the handle and scabbard. Minor blackened spots on the blade.
