Swords from the Timor Islands in Indonesia are quite scarce and sought after by collectors, especially the older ones. Here is a fine example of such a sword. The blade is heavy, widening toward the tip with ridged spine, forged from fine pamor steel, 21 inches long. The handle with the triangular shaped pommel is beautifully carved from dark hardwood and mounted with a brass collar. The wood scabbard is covered with white metal bands (few missing). Total length 31 inches. Very good condition. A fine rare sword.
