The Fon people of Cameroon uses this dagger mostly as sign of hierarchy and prestige. The relatively massive spear shaped blade is 8 inches long, finely forged with a central rib and very nicely decorated with punched decorations. The handle is ivory with good age color. Fur covered hide scabbard. Total length 11 ½ inches. Very good condition. An interesting fine and rare dagger.
