Assib Jambiya Dagger from Hadhramout, Yemen - 13522

One of the rarest forms of the Arab Jambiya with the considerably up-curving scabbard tip, with the chape sometimes higher than the pommel. Here is such a classical example .Good early blade 7 ½ inches long. Horn grip with silver mounts decorated on the pommel with corals and Carnelian stone. The wood scabbard is covered with leather and mounted with silver locket and chape set with red stones (glass ?). Original leather belt. Very good condition. |
