This fine gun is of Balkan origin, late 18 or early 19C. 45 inches long barrel bound with finely chased silver bands and finely decorated with silver koftgai work. The Miquelet lock, in good working order, covered with silver sheet and set with corals, also known as boyliya lock or sometimes referred to as Bulgarian lock. The stock is heavily decorated with brass inserts and inlaid with mosaic of Mother of pearl in a typical Balkan style. The butt is set with ivory panels inlaid with green dyed ivory and brass inserts and covered with original red fabric. Total length 56 inches. Very good condition. A very fine example.
