Fine 18 C. Ottoman Court Dagger - 13458


This fine dagger is also known as Court Dagger. It was a side arm of the nobilities visiting the courts of the Ottoman empire in the 17 and 18 C. The blade is wooz (Watered) steel, very well forged and finely chiseled, 14 ½ inches long, tapering to an acute tip. The grips are walrus ivory with silver grip strap and pommel cover set with corals stones. The scabbard is wood covered with very finely chased silver with coral and turquoise stones set at the top. Total length 21 inches. Very good condition.
