This Kard knife is Indian with blade forged from wootz steel (Of rather low contrast). Blade length 7 1/2 inches with etched inscription i Arabic letters and traces of gold koftgary decoration. The blade is dated to 1277 (?) corresponding to 1860 in the Gregorian calendar. Ivory and horn grips. Original leather covered scabbard. Total length 14 inches. Very good condition. Partial stitching repair on the scabbard seam.
