Up for sale is this beautiful Turkish Iraqi Khanjar Dagger. It is probably of East Turkey origin, with strong Kurdish Iraqi influence. Good double edged wootz blade of typical Turkish style, 7 ½ inches long with diamond cross section. I shaped hilt carved from a massive single piece of walrus ivory. Silver scabbard with niello decoration. Total length 14 inches. Very good condition. Minor dent on the silver. The scabbard is dated with two dates: 1209 (1794) and 1308 (1890), may be the first date refers to the blade age and the second later one refer to the date of mounting with new handle and scabbard.
