We are not sure on the exact origin of this African spear. May be South East Africa. Mid 20 C. Unusual steel work. The well forged blade with a shallow central rib is 5 1/2 inches, forge welded to a 13 inches tang made of twisted and braided steel rods. 5 inches socket. 21 inches of narrow steel tail of square cross section. Wood haft bound with copper and brass strips. Total length 61 inches. Very good condition.
