A Keris Penjang, also sometimes referred to as Execution Keris from Sumatra, late 19 - early 20 C. The massive blade is 23 ½ inches long very thick - 18 mm at the center of the Ganja. The hilt is very finely carved wood with dark age patina. Scabbard is carved from a single wood piece with brass tip. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. The handle is more of a Java style handle. Some age cracks on the handle.
