This lot of a spear and a dagger are coming from Sudan, early - mid 20 C. Ceremonial in nature but of good quality and workmanship. The dagger blade is 16 inches long. The spear blade is 8 inches long, 6 inches wide. Both blades are richly etched with imitation of inscription in Arabic letters. The dagger handle is wood and the spear handle is covered with braided leather and metal strips. The scabbards are extremely interesting, decorated on all faces with dense mosaic of bone and dark hardwood. Very good condition. Some losses to the mosaic decoration on the scabbards sides. Very decorative lot.
