This very fine shield is Persian, Qajar period, second half of the 19 C. The outer band has chiseled Persian figures with Arabic letters inscription. Inner part of the shield is beautifully inlaid with gold koftgari decoration. Four chiseled bosses. The shield 18 Inches diameter.Very good condition. Small losses to the gold work. A fine item.
