This MANDAU (sometimes also called “Parang Ihlang”) is a late 19C with a heavy 21 inches set with white metal inserts. The handle is “L” shaped, nicley carved from antler and bound with braided rattan strips, with a tufts hair on the pommel tips. Hard wood scabbard beautifully carved and bound with rattan strips in a decorative pattern. This Mandau comes with the side knife (Piso Raout) , in a rear compartment made of wood bark. Good condition. Scabbard mouth damaged. Old crack to the antler. An original authentic piece for real use.
