We offer here for sale an old. mid 19 C. Sewar dagger / knife from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its heavy down curving blade, by the grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Here the heavy blade is 11 inches long, forged from good laminated steel with hardened edge. The grip is carved pieace of ivory with good age patina. The scabbard is wood bound with engraved silver bands . Total length in scabbard 15 1/2 inches. Very good condition, a verysmall loss of silver and minor old chip to the ivory. An unusually fine knife.
