The swords and daggers of the Baule tribe were very rare and sought after by collectors of African weapon / tribal arts. The Baule people reside in Ivory Coast and Neighboring Ghana and known to be masters of wood work and brass casting. We offer here for sale a rare long sword of the Baule. The blade 27 inches long, very long compared to other Baule swords, well forged, of a shallow diamond cross section with a down curving. The handle is covered with braided fibers and with a crown shaped pommel. Total length 33 ½ inches. Very good condition. No scabbard. Light damage on the pommel crown.
