This large Turkish shanshir of the finest quality, has a massive 32 inches wootz blade of the Kirk Narduban pattern also known as Ladder pattern, of very good and clear contrast. Gilded silver cross guard and grip strap and large grip scales (Rhino Horn). Leather covered scabbard with spiral stitching and gilded silver mounts. All mounts are marked with the Tughra and another proof mark, some has engraved inscription. Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Original blade polish with minor blackened spots. Crack on one grip and minor bug bites on the horn. Very impressive sword of quality.
