This very fine hide shield is coming from Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Late 19 – early 20C. Large size 22 inches diameter, made from rhino hide, finely painted red on both sides and decorated with very fine gold colored hunting scenes. Four very finely chased silver bosses. Inner hand cushion and handles (later). Very good condition. Very minor losses to the gold painting. Very small distortion on the perimeter. A very impressive shield
