Very good Quality Sword of the Luba People - 13070


The Luba tribe from the south Congo of today was a precolonial kingdom, prosperous in arts trades with the Europeans. Luba works of decorative arts are much sought after by collectors. This sword is a classical example. Late 19c. Very well forged blade 17 inches long and 5 inches wide. Wood handle and a rare wood scabbard bounded with braided threads from natural fibers. Total length 23 inches. Very good condition.
