The swords and daggers of the Baule tribe were very rare and sought after by collectors of African weapon / tribal arts. The Baule people reside in Ivory Coast and Neighboring Ghana. We think that the dagger offered here is Baule, leaf shaped, very well forged 8 inches long and 2 ½ inches wide. The handle is finely carved ivory with a cross shaped base. Total length 12 inches. Very good condition. Very good age patina on the handle. No scabbard.
