A RENTONG knife / dagger from the Malay Archipelago, mostly used by the Ache people from North West Sumatra (see Stone Glossary, fig. 106 number 4 page 85). The blade is 11 inches long down curving and single edged, 10 mm thick at the base, forged from fine laminated steel. The hilt is horn with the pommel end sharply up-curving. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. Minor age cracks on the handle. No scabbard.
