Two Arm Daggers, Sudan, Africa - 6320

The most common concealed weapon in the Sahel, from Sudan to Mauritania is the arm dagger. It is worn on the arm under the sleeve blade up, grip down so it can be easily drawn, ready for use. The arm dagger varies in size and shape, but all has similar dual edge blade, I shaped grip and a leather loop attached to the upper part of the scabbard. Here we offer for sale two such daggers, mid 20 C. from North West Sudan. Blades are 9 and 7 ½ inches long, double-edged and very sharp, lightly engraved. The grips are wood covered with leather and the scabbards are tooled and painted leather. Very good condition some minor blackening of the blades. One of the pommel tips of the smaller dagger is broken. All part authentic and original. It is offered here at a very attractive price. |
